How I stay on track…

Staying on track

Below are a couple of things I do to help keep me on track and motivated towards my targets…

TDEE Calculator

I use an online TDEE tracker to work out what my daily calories should be. These take into account your height, weight and level of physical activity to give you a realistic and manageable calorie deficit. Maintaining this deficit will help to achieve a slow, steady and sustainable weightloss.

It’s really important that you update your TDEE tracker as you lose weight as your numbers will change as your body changes to. So I tend to update these after every half stone lost.

Track my Calories

Particularly at the beginning of my journey, I found it really useful tracking my food and drink intake using an app. I’ve tried a few including MyFitnessPal, Nutricheck and Team RH. The one I’ve found most user friendly though is Lose It. It’s a free app where you can pay for premium upgrade and get more detail insights into macronutrient tracking too.

I like how you can scan barcodes and the nutritional information is loaded straight into the tracker. This saves so much time!
